  3. This is the beta release of our upcoming maintenance update. 
  4.  
  5. The F2210002.EXE archive contains the following files:
  6.     SETUP.EXE    - New Setup supports VESA selection.
  7.     SETUP.CFG    - Default Setup configuration. 
  8.     INSTALL.EXE    - New Install with 
  9.     INSTALL.BIN    -     VESA fix.
  10.         F22.EXE         - Latest version of F-22 Lightning II 
  11.         LHA.EXE         - Distribution tool 
  12.         LHA.DOC         -     and documentation

  15. This update corrects the following problems:
  16.   Video symptoms:
  17.     Black screens when installing the game.
  18.     Corrupted video in the install or setup screens.
  19.     Divide faults when installing the game.
  20.   
  21.   Sound symptoms:
  22.     Static in digital sound and music
  23.     Crashes caused when trying to use daughterboards
  24.  
  25. If you already have the game installed:
  26.  
  27. DOS Users
  28. ==========================
  29. Copy this file into the directory that contains the game.
  30. Type F2210002.EXE and press enter.
  31. Answer Y when asked to overwrite files.
  32. You MUST re-run Setup to reconfigure your video and sound after installing
  33. this update.

  35. Windows 95 Users
  36. ==========================
  37. -Copy F2210002.EXE into your F-22 folder.
  38. -Double-click on F2210002.EXE
  39. -When prompted, select Y to overwrite files.
  40. -You MUST double-click on Setup to reconfigure your video and sound after installing this update.

  43. If you have been unable to install the game:
  44.  
  45. DOS Users
  46. ==========================
  47. -Create a directory for F-22 on the drive you wish to install the game to.
  48. For example, at the C:\> prompt type
  49.     MD F22
  50. and press enter.  This will create a directory called F22 on your hard drive.  
  51. -Copy the F2210002.EXE file into this directory.  
  52. -Make sure the F-22 CD is in your CD ROM drive.
  53. -Change to the directory and type F2210002.EXE to execute the file.  This will
  54.  extract the update files.
  55. -At the C:\F22> prompt type
  56.     INSTALL D:
  57. where D: is your CD ROM drive.  If your CD drive is another letter, substitute
  58. the correct letter for D.
  59. -Press the Enter key.
  60. -Follow the installation procedure as described in the manual.

  63. Windows 95 Users
  64. ==========================
  65. -You must create a folder on the drive you wish to install the game to.  
  66. -Double-click on My Computer.
  67. -Double-click on your hard drive.
  68. -From the File Menu, select New, then Folder.
  69. -A new folder will appear in the window, with the name New Folder highlighted.
  70. -Delete the words New Folder and type F22, then press enter.  The folder will
  71.  now be named F22.
  72. -Copy the F2210002.EXE file into the F22 folder.
  73. -Double-click on the F2210002.EXE file in the F22 directory.  This will
  74.  extract the update files.
  75. -When prompted, select Y to overwrite files.
  76. -Click on Start.
  77. -Click on Run.
  78. -Click on Browse.
  79. -Select your hard drive.
  80. -Select the F22 folder.
  81. -Double-click on INSTALL.EXE.
  82. -The Open: line will now say C:\F22\INSTALL.EXE
  83. -Add your CD ROM drive letter to the end of this line, seperated by a space;
  84. it should now read
  85. C:\F22\INSTALL.EXE D: (or the letter of the CD ROM that contains the F-22 CD).
  86. -Click on OK to install the game. 
  87. -Follow the installation procedure as described in the manual.
